Blackwood: middle of nowhere, centre of everything
December January 09 issue out now ...
Yep - the December January issue is now available to pick up from businesses in Blackwood - or protect the planet & read the colour version online by downloading the .pdf file here.
PLEASE NOTE the following corrections:
• p20 Greendale Hotel Advertisement - Mick Thomas is playing at 4pm on New Years Day NOT New Years Eve as printed in the hardcopy issue. This has been corrected in the on-line version
• p10 "Two Volunteers in the Solomons" - Kay Walker wrote the book & she is also the arthritis sufferer. My apologies to Ted & Kay for misinterpreting your email.
Apart from these 2 errors, I apologise for a number of typos in the printed issue. I am finding that by the time I have spent a week producing the News, I am blind to errors - if any one is interested in helping out for say 4 hours each 2 months (about a week before the end of the month of publication) to proof prior to print please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. In the meantime - enjoy, have a great Christmas & brilliant New Year.
Finally - a BUS SERVICE for BLACKWOOD
A new trial bus service to Blackwood is to be launched on August 1. The service will start in Blackwood & run to Bacchus Marsh on Fridays to allow people to get there for shopping, appointments or to meet socially. The service will also allow people to connect with trains to Ballarat & Melbourne. The Blackwood community has lobbied for a Friday shopper service for some time & it's great so see such a positive result. Moorabool Council hopes the community will find the service of great use & use it frequently.
